Karen Kornbluh’s 2006 Democracy article, “Familes Valued,” was published to widespread acclaim–so much so that David Brooks of the New York Times named it one of the best essays of that year, bestowing one of his “Sidney Awards” on the piece. Now, Kornbluh, who serves as Senator Barack Obama’s Policy Director in the U.S. Senate, has been named the Principal Author of the Democratic Party platform, as it crafts the Democrats’ agenda for the next four years.
