Democracy Triggers Congressional Hearing

In response to Jamie Metzl’s article in our spring issue, the House Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation and Trade will hold a hearing on whether or not genetic modification should be internationally regulated.

Jamie Metzl’s article for our spring issue, “Brave New World War”, has compelled the House Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation, and Trade to host a hearing on the subject of genetic modification. The subcommittee is chaired by Brad Sherman (D-CA) and is under the Foreign Affairs Committee. The hearing is open to the public.

Subject: “Genetics and other Human Modification Technologies: Sensible International Regulation or a New Kind of Arms Race?”
