Inside Philanthropy recently profiled Gara LaMarche, the president of Democracy Alliance and the author of a feature in the Fall 2014 Democracy, “Democracy and the Donor Class.” LaMarche’s essay covered the role philanthropy plays in society, and whether foundations have ended up with undue influence in politics. The profile, by Inside Philanthropy founder (and past Democracy author) David Callahan, included a long discussion of LaMarche’s piece, as well as his background in activism and then philanthropy.
