Democracy Editor Michael Tomasky appeared on an Aug. 28 broadcast of Fox 5 news commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of the 1963 March on Washington. Tomasky was brought on to discuss the protest music played at the march, a subject that he wrote about in a Daily Beast blog post. In his piece, Tomasky discussed the performances by artists like Bob Dylan, Mahalia Jackson, and Peter, Paul, and Mary, and the influence their music had on the civil rights movement.
