One issue that is a constant in this country but never seems to get quite the front-burner attention it deserves is the digital divide. The chasm between connected Americans and those who live unconnected lives keeps growing. The pandemic made the gulf wider and more visible than ever as some school children had to plant themselves in parking lots to take advantage of whatever WiFi connection they could to attend their virtual classes.
