Lawrence H. Summers’s review of Thomas Piketty’s Capital in the Twenty-First Century, released last week in a preview of the upcoming Summer Issue, has received widespread commentary and acclaim.

Bloomberg View cites Summers’s piece as an exception to the ideologically predictable reviews that have met the book so far. Jared Bernstein, former chief economic adviser to the Vice President, analyzed the review, calling “very insightful.” Greg Mankiw, Harvard economics professor called it “One of the best reviews of the book I have seen.”
Tyler Cowen cited it as a “very good review of Piketty.” And Brad DeLong of the Washington Center for Equitable Growth listed it as a “Morning Must-Read.”
