In his annual selection of the year’s best magazine essays, The Sidney Awards, New York Times columnist David Brooks signled out Karen Kornbluh’s “Families Valued” from Issue #2 for particular praise.
Brooks calls the awards “a nice way to honor the best magazine essays of the year and to
pass along a few nutritious holiday reading recommendations. But if you
spend a few weeks poring over the highlights from a year’s worth of
